Milk paint for the kitchen cupboard
Before color...
Milk paint (linen)
I finally got motivated to paint my cupboard! I decided to use milk paint, and so far I'm really happy with the results. I'm not a lover of painting. I read blogs by all these DIY'ers who make it look SO easy and fast, and it's totally inspiring, but when it comes down to actually doing it, I tend towards hesitatation.
So anyway, I bought this hand-made cabinet last January, or February (2011), and in September, it got moved from kitchen to basement, and there it sat, untouched, until now. It's almost done, and I'm hoping it will be back upstairs by Easter...we'll see : )

March was by far the BEST March, weather wise, I have ever lived thru...EVER, in all my life in New England. Normally a dreaded cold, rainy, windy month, that you just have to 'get thru' until you can actually feel Spring in the air. But not this year, omg, it was heaven! No rain or wind to speak of, warm beautiful days in the mid 60's to 70's.
On Friday, (March 23rd), we decided to go down to Southport and take a walk around town, to soak up this lovely weather.
Southport is fabulous..it's my old stompping ground!

Bruce & Tu
It's kind of cold out, I think i'll wear my cat scarf !
This was too funny, the cat was sleeping on the chair for hours, and then Bruce gets up says
'come on Tu, time to go home'.... picks the cat up, and wraps it around his neck! The cat never even flinched!

Quaker Farms...the morning after the snow. The temperature did not climb much today, but chimney's are smokin' in many a New England home!
January 17th and 21st
Making pizza crusts for diner, and some to freeze for later. Jan 21st, the first snow since the dreadful Halloween Storm, baking pizza, McLauhlin Vineyard wine bottle (our local winery) and a pepperoni apizza for Johnny.

January 16th
Last night after work, I had to drop my car off at the dealer for repairs, and it turned out to be a very long wait for my ride home...an hour & 1/2 of watching the comings and goings of Arby's drivethru, lol This picture of the Arby sign, makes me think of Texas! I guess it could be anywhere, USA, but for some reason, fast food chains always remind me of Florida or Texas...Hmmm, maybe the pickup truck has something to do with it :)

January 15th 2012
Meet the new workhorse! It was a long time coming, but we finally sprung for a new Quadrafire woodstove! Of course it was the coldest day of the winter so far, but the boys came thru, and they got her in! (gotta love men with skills, lol) Unfortunately, we couldn't really fire her up to full potential, but tonight, we're going to be toasty!
Friday the 13th, of January 2012
It was frigid outside, but plenty warm inside where the pizza's were baking! This is Modern Pizza, in New Haven, CT.

About Me
- Priscilla
- ct, United States
- Hi, I'm Priscilla. This blog is basically a diary, in photos, so that i might capture tiny pieces of time...that pass, far too quickly...and the older i get, the faster time passes. So here's a little bit about me: I live in Southern New England, (one of the worlds most beautiful places,in my opinion) I'm a Mom of 3, and grandma to 1 beautiful little girl. I love my kids, my grandaughter & my husband, more than anything in the world, BUT...there ARE other things I LOVE too...like pizza! & summertime & ice cold beer & red wine...brisk Autumn days, sitting by the fireplace, old houses, stone walls, flea markets, second hand shops, old painted furniture, decorating (and then redecorating). Warm sunny mornings on the porch, Earl Grey tea, and sultry late afternoons at the beach, and taking pictures. And Last, but by no means least, home.
