Hyacinths, Lilac buds & Lupine

I'm so happy that my red lupine made it thru the winter! I have never had luck with lupine, so this is very exciting!
And my hyacinths under my lilac made babies! Yip Yip!

Ode to Riley

Mr.Riley is definitely Mama's boy. He spent his 1st seven years living alone with John, and he is SO happy to have a mama (me) and a girlfriend (Violet). He's 14 now, and has bone cancer, and its getting very hard for him to move around, but he greets me every night when I get home, with his stuffed mallard, and wants to play! He's a tough old coot!

He'll stand for hours, watching me while I make dinner, or do dishes, or whatever...he just loves his mama :)

Donovan's, South Norwalk, CT

Sure do miss this place for a bite & a beer.

Sweater for Hi-Way :)

I must say, I'm pretty proud of myself...this is a sweater I knitted for Waylon. I've never knitted anything before, so it feels really good to have completed this.

Sunrise

I don't think I've ever seen a sunrise with such
intense color. In just the few seconds it took me
to adjust my camera, the fire was gone...

Pumpkin Cranberry Bread & muffins

Another cold rainy/slushy day. Baking always warms the kitchen and makes the house smell yummmy.
Let's see, this got rid of a can of pumpkin, and a bag of frozen cranberries.
It's really hard for me to use up my cranberry stock...you just can't get them all year, so I love when my freezer is full of them.

Making Risotto

I LOVE having a 'stocked' pantry... but, I realize that I have WAY to much food, so I'm going to use everything from my freezer/pantry and see how many dinners I can make without spending any more on food (other than fresh veggies etc).
I'm actually amazed at what I have on hand :)

A very snowy winter so far.....

My computer hasn't been cooperating, so I haven't been able to post pictures for a while, so I'm posting some, even though they're not the best, because I haven't been able to upload any to my computer. Anyway......
These are from a little roadtrip, me & little Lil took, up north, a couple of weekends ago...
it was COLD! ! !

Stocked up, and ready for the snow.....this little town had the most beautiful small old houses. They made you want to go in and curl up by the fire!

The next best thing, was.......Bohemian Pizza, Bantam, CT

yummm....olive oil & roasted garlic & warm bread

We got the BEST booth, right in front of the HUGE old fireplace.

Halloween, come & gone

While I was putting some halloween costumes back in the attic, I looked across and saw this black thing on the window. At first I thought it might be a hornets nest, but as I stood there staring over at it, I could see little fingers! This little bat was hanging on between the Attic Screen and the louvers of the window! I've checked everyday since, and he hasn't come back.Fo's Jack-o-lantern

About Me

ct, United States
Hi, I'm Priscilla. This blog is basically a diary, in photos, so that i might capture tiny pieces of time...that pass, far too quickly...and the older i get, the faster time passes. So here's a little bit about me: I live in Southern New England, (one of the worlds most beautiful places,in my opinion) I'm a Mom of 3, and grandma to 1 beautiful little girl. I love my kids, my grandaughter & my husband, more than anything in the world, BUT...there ARE other things I LOVE too...like pizza! & summertime & ice cold beer & red wine...brisk Autumn days, sitting by the fireplace, old houses, stone walls, flea markets, second hand shops, old painted furniture, decorating (and then redecorating). Warm sunny mornings on the porch, Earl Grey tea, and sultry late afternoons at the beach, and taking pictures. And Last, but by no means least, home.
